  • Because each person has different issues and goals for counseling, treatment will be different depending on the individual. Therapy is also tailored based on the age and needs of the individual.

  • Unfortunately, this is not possible to answer on an FAQ page. Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them, and the length of time therapy can take to accomplish therapy goals will depend on the commitment and participation by the client. Work outside of sessions can also be vital to progress

  • It is necessary to complete all documents required to schedule an initial intake session. The information you provide will be used to determine the necessity for counseling services. During this session, we will discuss the presenting concerns, medical concerns, prior treatment, education/work history, and social/emotional functioning along with family history. We recommend that you share all relevant records.

  • Once the need for counseling is confirmed, the frequency of counseling sessions will be determined. Future appointments will be scheduled at that time.

  • Appointments last 45 minutes to 55 minutes long, every person is unique and different so your time in therapy might vary. I ask that people to commit to weekly attendance for the first 3 - 4 sessions to fully assess your needs and to see if you are comfortable working with me. People usually either graduate or step down to monthly maintenance appointments as progress is made.

  • Yes. I require a 24-hour notice for canceled appointments, anything less than that is considered a Late Cancellation and you will be charged a fee unless we determine otherwise. If you do not show up for a scheduled session, that is considered a No Show and you will be charged a $85 fee that must be paid before the next session can be scheduled. If 2 consecutive appointments are missed, that may be grounds for termination as consistency is a vital part of treatment.
